Wachtels Lagoon Walk
A Parks wetland walk on the Murray floodplain near Kingston-on-Murray, with lagoons and birdwatching. Not the closed Banrock Station trails.
Wachtels Lagoon sits on the Murray floodplain near Kingston-on-Murray, in the same wetland country as the Kingston-on-Murray section of Murray River National Park and the nearby Loch Luna and Moorook reserves. Flat paths and birdwatching around the lagoons suit an easy morning walk when water levels and track conditions allow. This is a Parks and reserves experience, not the former Banrock Station Wine and Wetland Centre trails, which Walking SA lists as closed until further notice. Check https://www.parks.sa.gov.au/parks/murray-river-national-park and local track notices before you go.
